Let’s start with a brief description of three people –
- From a small village in Erode district of Tamil Nadu, C. Vanmathi, who started her life with buffalo grazing. Her father was a car driver.
- Ansar Ahmad Shaikh. His father used to run auto sometimes and do welding work at other times.
- Ummul Kher, who grew up in a Delhi slum. Her father used to sell various things on the footpaths, and Ummul used to help him in this.
Now we look for those elements which are common among these three.
- It is evident that the economic condition of all of them was awful.
- These people must have had their primary education in government schools with sheds and slates.
- If their parents aren’t completely illiterate, they don’t tend to be much educated either. They just know sufficient useful words.
- What the environment of their homes and their society would have been like, you can take a guess yourself.
- You can imagine yourself what level of English they might have known. To help you here, I would definitely like to provide you this thread that they did not study in well-known institutions like St. Stephen’s.
- Out of all these three, the question of being a doctor, engineer, CA or an MBA from any of the IIMs does not even arise.
That’s all. Surely you might be a bit bored by now. And even if you are a little annoyed at me, I acknowledge your annoyance. But you should not only read these similarities very carefully, but if you can prolong this list, then you should do it too. By doing this you will be able to increase the importance of this article for yourself.
Now I would like to tell that particular similarity among these three, due to which I have chosen them. The similarity is that –
All three have succeeded in the IAS (Civil Service) examination. The first two of them got IAS, while Ummul got Revenue Service. By becoming India’s youngest IAS, Ansar Shaikh has created such a recorded in the history that it will not be possible for anyone to break it unless UPSC reduces the minimum age for it. And it’s not likely at the moment. Well done Shaikh!
Salute to these three. At the same time, salute to those youths like these whose names are there in the list of UPSC, but somehow don’t get to the public. Here I would like to say that there are many such people every year. These three names also belong to three different years.
